It has occurred to me recently that there are a few types of music that I enjoy listening to, but very rarely hear because I don't actually own any of it. Therefore, I'm looking for suggestions of albums to pick up to cover a few genres. So if any of you out there in LJ-land are a fan of one of these genres and know a good album to fill a hole in a music collection, speak up.

In no particular order:

Swing
Punk
Blues
Ska

Alright boyo, it all depends on the style of punk you want but here are some of my favorites and ones that I sugest to anyone

The Damned, The Dwarves, The Misfits, Minor Threat, The Ghouls, Tiger Army, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Circle Jerks, Black Flag(the best album is The First For Years album), Rancid, The Boils, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, NOFX, The Casualties, Municipal Waste.

I could go on....ALOT longer, but thats a few, most of the bands have MANY good albums, most of which have good songs on.

For SKA:

Operation Ivy, Energy, Link 80 are REALY good, I cant think of any others right now, but if you are in REAL nead of more ska send me an email and I can dig up some for ya

Blues:

Even if many call him classic rock I LOVE Eric Clapton.

Swing:

Stray Cats, Brian Setzer and thats all i can think of off the top of my head...
