An open Letter to the person who tossed a kitten in a box on the side of the road:

You are beneath contempt. Suffer greatly, and die screaming.

See you in hell,

Anyone remember these? I think it's cool that they work on a computer monitor.

Do any of you use google talk? My contact list is pretty small compared to other IM services, is it that most of you out there don't also have google accounts?

EVE Online continues to be awesome.

I got a smart phone, which allows me to post to LJ from bed when I should really be sleeping.

For the first time ever, I think, I managed to get all my gear cleaned and recovered from this weekend's game. Armor, boots, gloves, and garb, all taken care of. I was surprised at how fast this weekend's weather caused the armor to rust though. From helm to greaves I had a lot of rust to scour off.

I just stayed up until 0600 playing Magic (with Kat). Goob vacation week has officially begun.

Bret and I were tossing around the idea of doing a small D&D game on Mon, Tue, or Wed nights. Anyone local interested in playing?

Mount & Blade is an awesome game. It's a sandbox style game where you can engage in trade, banditry, mercenary work, or even becoming a landed noble. You can even be a bit of each. It's got a cool combat system and even manages to make mounted combat awesome, which is something I don't think I've ever seen successfully done before. There's also a big mod community with alternative historical and fantasy settings.

I'm currently playing a heavy cavalry character, leading a band of 68 mixed horse and footmen. There's nothing like riding down infantry with a lance and breaking a shield wall for your forces.

If you're into medieval combat, check it out. It's available on Steam.

An announcement for a show at the Haunt this Sunday caught my eye with this description of the band: "Psyche Corp. is a fairytale darkwave cyberpunk band powered by robots and the ethereal voice of Psyche Chimere (Genevieve)."

The poster is here: http://community.livejournal.com/ithaca_scene/96032.html

Kat and I are planning to go, any of you other Ithicans out there interested?

In my second installment of EVE related posts I'd like to introduce the Swollen Eyeball, a Cheetah class covert operation frigate. This has become my favorite ship, and probably the one I spend the most time in. Fast, nimble, and stealthy, when piloting one of these I can slip unseen through hostile or pirate infested space with near impunity. It makes an excellent reconnaissance and smuggling vessel (for small cargoes).

So, without further ado:

Oops, I forgot to decloak. Covert ops ships tend to be a little shy. Let's try that again.

So, as you might have noticed if you're reading this, I suck at updating this journal. I think about stuff, and then never get around to actually typing it out.

Then there is Twitter. I have an instinctive aversion to it, which is probably irrational. Perhaps it would be a useful tool just for making it easier to post quick updates to this journal.

So, would tweeted updates here be annoying, or would it be a decent tool to use? Do any of you have any positive or negative experiences with it to share? Should I drink the kool-aid or continue to avoid it like the plague?

For those of you who don't know (because I update on a geological time scale), I started playing EVE Online a few months ago. It's cool, it's deep, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Meet the Gleamfang, a Wolf class Assault Ship. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Actually, it's become past tense, because I managed to get it blown up tonight. Oh well, time for the Gleamfang II.

Things I need to do:

1. Finish prepping my Star Wars game.

2. Go over my Heartless Void Sorcerer setting to be ready to run a game. Specifically, some stuff on spaceships should be included.

3. Produce a PTA session before doing so at the convention.

We're starting a D&D game tonight, and I felt inspired to write up a little background story that also serves as a group kicker. We all decided at character creation that the game would start with us escaping from prison, so...

In a damp cell, there is a loose brick in a wall covered in dark stains. Behind that brick lies a note scrawled in a cramped hand... )

As many of you already know, I've plenty of trouble with my car, starting with having to replace the whole transmission right after I bought it. The current batch of ills consisted of rear brakes about to go, a half-broken emergency brake, a leaky gas tank, and a slipping timing belt. This made for a total repair cost of somewhere over $2000, which was more than the damned thing was worth.

I decided on an alternate solution.

Behold the new hotness )

I played Battletech again for the first time in a few years yesterday. It's still a fun game, especially when Clan cheat-monkeys are forced to surrender before the tactical superiority of the Inner Sphere. Between heavy artillery fire and coordinated fire support, they just couldn't take what we were dishing out.

Are any of you out there Playstation 3 owners? My username on the PS Network is ubergeek2012, and Kat is Chocobodancer.

What's yours?
